ABOUT PREMA
I changed my name to Prema Joy in Feb 2015 after a transformational, deeply profound trip to India. My spiritual name was given to me and I decided to keep it. My second name has always been JOY.
My journey of self discovery started 22 years ago and I have over that time gained many insights and skills as an intuitive counselor, program facilitator, meditation facilitator, artist, singer and speaker, helping people through difficulties and inspiring them to further develop their own skills and accept happiness in their lives.
A mother of 2 and a grandmother, I have spent many years in the Community Sector, working with people in not for profit organisations.
Working previously in my own Business, Sacred Dimensional Pathways, and Awakening Hearts & Healing Assoc facilitating workshops, meditation, retreats & one on one counselling has given me great insights, knowledge and experience as well as courage to give anything a go. 🙂
I was led to The Journey (www.thejourney.com) with Brandon Bays in 2005 and was able to delve deeper into my own pain, grief, abuse, abandonment and self worth issues to enable deep healing. A greater passion to Love & accept myself fully, inspire and serve others was born.
I have a deep calling to work with Aboriginal and disadvantaged people and have seen transformation occur on many levels. I have worked with women in an Aboriginal Family Domestic Violence service facilitating a program called Self Esteem and Healthy Lifestyle and a project called Opening Doors for Domestic Violence, which won Event of the Year 2016 in City of Salisbury.
I am a Get Real Coach empowering Youth. (www.getreal4youth.com).
In January 2012 I joined a Women’s Leadership group called Unite the Light. Together we work towards connecting and empowering women all over the world. We have collectively raised money for “Because I am a girl”, “Girls Shift Africa” and “Youth Shift Africa”.
In July 2013 I co-facilitated a creative/drama workshop with Girls Shift Africa working with Girls ages 11-15 in the slums of Mombasa. I personally crowd funded $6,000 to make this trip.
I also collaborated in a project of a video called Wake UP with Youth Shift Africa. Click on the link below and watch the video.. I am the blonde woman in the black and white. 🙂
I was a member of a Pop-up Choir called WOW “Women of the World”. Starting in October 2013 and completing in March 2014 We raised money for UNICEF Women through 9 performances.
In May 2016 I trekked in the Grand Canyon USA for five days to raise money for Down Syndrome SA. It was an amazing experience and really taught me about my physical body capabilities.
In 2015 Arunuchula the sacred mountain of Ramana in Thiruvanamalai in India called me and I experienced huge transformation and deep stillness. I was given a spiritual name Prema… meaning LOVE.
In Dec 2009 – Jan 2010, I travelled through India on a Pilgrimage visiting sacred spiritual places and deepening my own spiritual journey.
Currently I am one of the team in The Happy Hearts Hub.
I am open to see what is revealed here on the pages of Prema’s PowWow and excited to see where it takes me and hopefully YOU.
